now that I submitted an enormous grant proposal (both many pages of work and also in competition for a very, very big bag of money), I can share pictures and video from my debut solo performance at Cluster Museum in Ann Arbor on Saturday!

I made an apple galette so I can have apple pie with melted cheddar cheese for dessert after dinner

My Spanish neighbor, Miguel, gave us this bottle of port on Three Kings' day

He has been a devoted listener of mine since we met, probably in 2019? And, he came to tonight's show so I simply MUST open this while I eat the rest of the chocolate covered raisins I got from By The Pound on Thursday

#beansky I made an overly complicated lunch, mostly to entertain Gerad (4yo) whom I'm watching solo at the moment

@ranchogordo.bsky.social black caviar lentils atop a cous cous and spiced/caramelized onion pilaf alongside za'atar roasted carrots and a sumac cucumber salad

I suppose this is as good a time as any to promote my debut ambient noise show 7 PM tomorrow at Cluster Museum in Ann Arbor (307 N. Main Street)

It's gonna crunch!

I figured I should share a pic before I eat the second half

I know this is one of the least important things happening in the world right now, but I want to blast out that I'm making my debut as a synth/noise/electronics soloist this coming SATURDAY (1/17) at 7 PM in Ann Arbor at the new arts space Cluster Museum (307 N. Main Street)

I'm trying something new this semester where I have a notebook to keep attendance and jot down notes about each class session (i.e. student questions/suggestions, unresolved material, teaching ideas for the future)

I've used digital tools for this in the past but I'm in the mood to take it analog

Hey Ann Arbor people! Here's a flyer for my much-previewed debut solo ambient/noise/etc synth performance on the evening of Saturday 1/17 at Cluster Museum (307 N. Main Street) in Ann Arbor!

I'm so excited for this show and honored to be featured by a terrific new local arts space

Please come by!

@normcharlatan.bsky.social I pulled out this mug for my last coffee simply because it is Norm Charltan's birthday and knowing that has activated my Rice alumni pride (as you can already tell)

@johnedwinmason.bsky.social I just noticed an exciting change on the ESPN app, they have added the Africa Cup of Nations to the 'Top Events' section - it is last of six featured sports, but that's much better than earlier in the tourney esp. because I think it is not broadcast on an ESPN property

I remember the last time the Rams and Panthers played in the first round on a January 10th, it was a hell of a game that went to 2OT and ended with a 69yd Steve Smith TD reception from Jake Delhomme

I'm making Gerald homemade chicken fingers in my grandmother's electric skillet

(I will make myself some fried thighs once I've made Isaac and Gerald's dinner plates)

We just returned from a three-night stay at the Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City (a gift from Shana's parents) and I think a new tradition was born!

We arrived/departed in either end of a winter storm, so my favorite memory is sledding on the resort's golf course with Isaac yesterday morning
