Data is correct, causal agency is (IMO) incorrect.

The vast majority of ppl who use AI to make images and video have never touched and would never touch Photoshop/AfterEffects/Illustrator/etc. The issue is Adobe trying to squeeze its users with subscriptions, and other customer-hostile behavior.
From Dare Obasanjo on Mastodon. Adobe is hitting the floor. #AI

Shout out to @composerbrad.bsky.social for helping me choose my starter modular synth (Behringer Neutron) back in 2021, I'm using it tomorrow and wouldn't be doing this performance at all if I hadn't chosen to change my artistic focus four and a half years ago and embrace electronic stuff
I suppose this is as good a time as any to promote my debut ambient noise show 7 PM tomorrow at Cluster Museum in Ann Arbor (307 N. Main Street)

It's gonna crunch!

Awkward that the "protect girls' sports!" goons and the "invading and occupying American cities is good, actually" goons are the same goons
They are canceling youth sports across the city in Minneapolis this weekend because lawless masked armed federal paramilitaries are targeting the children and families.
Minneapolis Parks and Recreation has canceled youth sports because ICE is terrorizing our community

I was telling one of my kids that it was physically impossible for an ad to play between songs on any of the records I own, and they asked "and you only have to pay for it once?" and you could see how strange that seemed. You cannot overstate how many basic rules of media consumption have changed.

ICE hates for their brutality to be seen and recorded. In almost every encounter, you’ll notice that the ICE agents are the ones aggressively attacking citizens who are non-violently exercising their rights. DHS has threatened to prosecute organizations doing these constitutional observer trainings.

The only thing that seems gives them pause is the presence of white Minnesotans, which is why there are now parent school patrols at almost every school in the cities. Neighbors visibly in high-viz vests to alert ICE if they try to kidnap kids, parents, or teachers that the task will be annoying.

Regular people are, at a moment’s notice, dropping everything to go watch armed masked goons. They blow whistles to notify other neighbors to come out of their homes and record what is happening and get the vulnerable inside. ICE hates it because they don’t want people to know what they are doing.

Because the media does not know how to frame what is happening, they keep referring to regular Minnesotans as protesters. But there is very explicit training that so many people done to learn how to be a constitutional observer. People are bearing witness to kidnappings, with phones and whistles.
by @democraticwins.bsky.social CNN just aired a devastating compilation of all the times ICE brutally attacked Americans. Remember, Donald Trump sponsored this. This is done at his command.

Somehow Democratic leaders will see photos like this and think the solution is to “re-train” ICE when the only path forward is to dissolve the entire agency and prosecute the animals inside it

I think my piece for Saturday's show (7p, Cluster Museum - 307 N. Main Street, Ann Arbor) is done!

It is called "Memory" (ca. 45')

Tonight I decided to change a few things, including running a pre-recorded narration through my 'Stereofield' - the outcome is less intelligible but more interesting

80 minutes? Shana and I spend more than two hours each morning - before we go to work - with our kids between when they wake up (6:45) and when our oldest is on the school bus (ca. 9:00)

The Economist should have called ME!

(I would take their money to write something about anything, of course)
Older generations spent a lot less time parenting. Millennial dads spend nearly as much time parenting as Boomer moms did. Millennial and Gen X moms way more.
