I think there's two basic dynamics underpinning shitty mob behavior online, and the Sky Marchini/Will Stancil stuff is an unfortunate example of each. The first is a feeding frenzy - when a post is over-interpreted or just straightforwardly misinterpreted, and especially when it escapes context.

I think Stancil is just a very prominent example of a certain super-annoying kind of loud, overly-confident, center-left dummy who always tries to post through his bad takes. Hard not to rubberneck at something like that.

A lot of people are mad at Schumer for saying this. But he's right. Democrats don't control a single branch of government and they can't pass anything. Only Republicans can rein in Trump because they control both chambers of Congress. Democrats have no cards to play here.

New York is actually a deep blue state. The majority of the population supports leftist policies. It’s been this way forever. This issue is that our elected Democrats have avoided giving its constituents what they want. Hochul is one of those Democrats. This is arguably good pressure regardless.
