Rebalancing melee weapons is arguably already needed at this point anyway, since most weapons are literally working with just "damage", "attack speed" which can't be faster than 1/2 a second due to how the damage cooldown works, and different reach literally just for the spear.

Thank you! The bending, winding, and ever expanding intricacies of Ender dragon anatomy are *chef's kiss*.

It was completely inadvertent, but a MASSIVE mistake for Minecraft players to frame every issue with the enchanting system as just the "too expensive" limit, because it had Mojang see changing that system as just adding a single low priority QoL feature instead of you know, overhauling a system.

I would also be curious why we haven't seen an enchanting update or experiment yet.

Though it could be that the community just kind of dealt with it until realizing how bad it was (in ways other than the too expensive limit) until a few years ago, so Mojang didn't see it as a big deal either.

The concern about that is feedback gathering to be honest, since almost every aspect of the existing system is just awful and would need to be discussed. I definitely believe fixing the anvil calculations can (and probably, desperately should) be done in a drop though.

The thing is that whenever they try to overhaul a system or anything in general, they will do so then leave it in the "experimental" category for literal years.. I do enjoy when they update old mechanics though, i just wish they would keep working on them and not forget about it. like the minecart…
