National Zoo and Smithsonians: The Zoo wrote on X yesterday that the Zoo and museums will remain open through at least Monday, Oct. 6. "The Smithsonian will use prior-year funds still available to us to remain open," the X post said.

If these troops use force against US citizens, they violate both their oaths and our national laws. While they may not be held accountable immediately because the USG is broken, they should realize this is how you end up on trial saying "I was just following orders."

I think it’s a misstep to say the federal surge has ended. MPD’s control by the federal government has ended. Bowser said they would no longer provide info to ICE.

But the feds are still here. Migrant neighbors are still being detained. The National Guard is still here.

For the record, I'm less worried about the National Guard, which is performative nonsense. But at least those guys are uniformed and have some training and rules of engagement. The anonymous cosplay federal law enforcement which is running wild through our streets is a much bigger problem.
