Finding your work essential in dark times. Loved the Pompeo interview excellent - please interview more people who disagree with you.

Not sure why you’re blaming the journalists. From what I read - and maybe not representative- but good journalists are challenging Trump, and are scrambling to keep up with daily outrages. Many do know the stakes.

Well overdue for media to ban “drops” by political parties that insist no third party comment can be sought. Insidious, does not serve readers. (The Age banned them at a state level, or at the very least discloses that that was a condition for the story). Time for it to end in Canberra.

It’s been going on for years! I banned it at a state level at The Age - we reserved the right to seek third party comment or at least to disclose that it was a condition that we did not. “Drops” insidious and media should refuse them - why haven’t Canberra journos done so, or their organisation?

Curious as to why the suppressed evidence in the Patterson trial was released to the media given appeal process not yet over. Was it explained? May have missed it.

My advice for what it’s worth? Get out of the office, go on the ground.

You two are essential listening in a historic (and often scary) time of shuddering change and uncertainty.

Just a thought: what if we in the media forgot about politics of politics this term and just reported and analysed policy using all our skills to make it relevant and interesting. Nothing else. What would happen? Worth the experiment?

All good. Focus more on policy. People hungry for it done well IMHO.

Will listen. Am glad you acknowledge that there is excellent journalism being done, every day. Investigative, beat reporting, etc. every day. I noticed no mention of Murdoch media, but assume it won’t be ignored. The UK and US elections considered podcast elections. Here? What has been interesting?

I love Australia, and I hope every Australian politician watches this. We too can raise our ambition during this turning point in history.

WATCH: Canadian Prime Minister isn’t a natural politician or orator, but I think you should watch his speech after last night’s victory. A bit nervous, humble, authentic, personal, casually funny, strong, ambitious, unifying, & in the end, truly inspiring.

The leader we need.

Remember it with horror, including the Indon authorities glee at killing people. Lame I know, but vowed at the time not to go back until they got rid of death penalty.
