New podcast alert! An EXCELLENT look at girls education in the late 19th / early 20th century. It's an hour long and in chapters like a proper book, so you can enjoy it on your commute / over your weekend / in the bath, as appropriate

It does! Amazingly, in the same fabric as the rest of my shirt, so you can't really see it, cos I dont want to be a braggard

(Top fact - was a reasonably handy goalkeeper in my youth, until it was realised you could just lob me from distance. Once saved a penalty from Huddersfield Town's Jon Stead)

Seeing as you're the Keeper, does your work shirt have your name and the number 1 on the back?

As well as writing The Same Sky, Mitchell penned a number of novels and children's books, as well as writing a celebrated biography of the French writer Colette. She was working on a biography of the Redgrave acting dynasty when she died in 1979 at the age of only 63.

Mitchell began her career on stage but went on to appear in films like The Divided Heart, Woman in a Dressing Gown, and Yield to the Night. She played Julia to Peter Cushing's Winston in the first UK TV adaptation of Orwell's 1984, & also starred in the TV version of her own play 'The Same Sky'.

Although I will not, I repeat, NOT rise to the bait about the boss being called Head Archivist. I won’t, I absolutely won’t, BUT I THINK YOU’LL FI——(is hauled offstage by big stick with hook on the end)

On thursday I was granted an honorary doctorate by the University of York, where I studied 20 years ago (and where I've taught for the past decade). It was lovely -- but I did not realise I would also get a fun photoshoot after the ceremony! Big thanks to Paul Shields for making us all look smart

Thank you so much for this new podcast series. Have added it to my Apple podcast favourites so as not to miss new episodes. Mostly alternate my listening between music & podcasts whilst keeping busy in my sewing room, love hearing a delve into new to me history. :)
