im just an urban egg farmer at this point. an npc who offers free eggs. all i talk about is my chickens. but all i think about is my executive dysfunction and dysfunctional home life.

maybe if you make a list of reasons why you believe it would be beneficial to have your phone near you at night (in case of a fire, or an emergency alert for example) it might show your mom you are thinking of your phone as a multitool and not a fun "toy" that needs to be controlled

if it helps over 10 years ago when social media was just becoming mainstream and texting was the attention killer, my mum also took my phone off me and pulled out the homeless e so I wouldn't sneak on to my Twitter on the computer (we had dial up)

I really struggle with writing stories that are cohesive or chronological, then committing to creating comics, not sure how to combat that.. the urge to create is so overwhelming but when it gets down to business it's a jumbled mess then I'm burnt out

didn't realise how small the three older chickens were until our pullets shot up in size!!

yes i can tell the brown chickens apart and they have a FEROCIOUS APPETITE they are diabolical

an example of floppy's eggs, tablespoon for comparison. yesterday's egg is significantly larger than the spoon, today's egg is only slightly larger.
she is not a large chicken so the variation of size is a lil concerning, she is a year old now and her body has stabilised a little (she used to lay soft shell eggs). but still, gotta keep an eye on her just in case she gets egg bound.
considering that our brown hens were bred for egg production, I don't think Floppy would make for a healthy layer to continue breeding due to the inconsistency (she's in pain with the larger eggs 😢) (we dont breed hens due to being in an urban area but if situations change we consider getting a darling rooster)
(raven on the other hand could make for a good adoptive mother hen, she is very clever and knows how to make her own nest, but her temperament is bad - she got violent with our old rooster so if she had male chicks they would be just as aggressive. at 2 years of age she's starting to show signs of broodiness after catching the delulu from pompom)
(pompom and stormy are riskier broody hens cos they are prone to EATING the eggs and purposely destroying em)

brownie dropping a brownie on me #chickens #pets

quick doodle of me holding a chicken (named Brownie). brownie recently sprained her foot so she is used to being held and having us check her leggies. pompom (who has recently been evacuated from the favourite egg nest) eats feed next to me, while River (who we assume is Brownie's biological sister) is looking at my sleeve for tiny pilled bits of fluff

brownie relaxes in my arms then farts. the other chickens look at the viewer like they're on the office
