Being busy is overrated
Do you honestly think we have a say in things? We need our own nuclear capability that seems to be the only real deterrent for getting invaded when things get a little rough.

Thanks for your simple explanations of really complicated things. Always such a pleasure to read.

Growth retires debt. Governments are heavily indebted and they use population growth to inflate the debt away. The problem is the persistent per capita recession the existing residents are experiencing is annoying a lot of us.

lol I’m doing a comparison of the threads b/w X and Bluesky could be the basis of a thesis.

If the immigration number is reduced next year that will potentially result in wages growth for the great unwashed. That situation will be untenable.

Maybe that get performance bonuses for not finding corruption

I’m still listening to you but I’m over 50 so my music tastes are irrelevant. Chuck D is the Soul of Hip Hop IMO

Hang in there for a few years at least

My first 50 years were relatively peaceful by historical standards and unfortunately that was not normal. As resources become scarce, Industrial Revolution x.x/AI/crypto affects the world order. Oligarchs will defend their ill gotten assets by sending us serfs to war. History tells us that’s normal.

Let’s not let the government off the hook they provide the framework for the economy. unemployment is low and rates are ok by historical standards. It’s the government that’s avoided a technical recession by keeping net migration at 500k+ and penalising citizens by maintaining a per capita recession

Surely we must first be outraged about hot cross buns being available on Boxing Day.
Next is the outrage about the cost of New Years Eve Fireworks and the effect on pets and wildlife.
Aaaand only then, should we get into Australia Day outrage. I’m outraged that they’ve gone too early.

Please keep up the good fight on this issue. The government is so far behind public sentiment that their position is nonsensical. As a child I used to go to the TAB to place bets on the Melbourne Cup. This year I didn’t even bother watching the race. I’m not anti gambling but I am anti gambling ads.

They should get the people that did the Covid App to do it for free. We paid a lot of money for nothing. They owe the tax payer.

What we do on Twitter/X is irrelevant.
IMO Elon Musk has already achieved his goals by influencing an election and getting himself a defacto position in Trump’s government. No different to how Murdoch uses traditional media. I follow people who’s views make me uncomfortable to avoid echo chambers
