The current state of AI ain't replacing many jobs, it's snake oil. There's no current path to AGI so I think people shouldn't quit their current job to work in a coal mine just yet.

Yeah, but what is it if you don't include AI creative accounting?

But I think it's more likely he's misleading & dissembling.

Intentionally harming the environment for corrupt purposes should have been made a serious crime so guys like this get locked up for the sake of humanity and the planet.

Because coal mines, oil rigs and refineries don't have any initial environmental costs...

If this guy is actually as stupid as he appears, he should be removed from his position for reasons of incompetence.

LLMs are garbage. But they're smarter than this guy.

Britain will continue on its downhill trajectory until a sizeable majority openly proclaim the failures of Brexit and populism, causing grifters like this to slink away in shame.

We need experts, evidenced-based policy and compassion to return to the halls of power.

Two films alone make him epic:

* The Long Good Friday
* Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Unforgettable performances. Even his bit-parts make me smile (Hook).

Practically every film since the 1970s that depict an empire show it in negative terms.

There are exceptions (Temple of Doom makes the British Empire look good right at the end), but they are in the minority.

"AI" is a marketing term.

Like "organic" in the food industry, it is a nebulous term that exists to muddy the water and make something sound good.

I don't get it.

You pay tax on the winnings. Then put the rest in a phony charity and then pay tax on the salary you get from it?

This also assumes the federal government will let you get away with such a transparently fake charity.

I googled the article and the headline no longer mentions migrants.

Paragraph 5 highlights locals' concerns it could be migrants but then says there is no evidence for those claims.

The article would have made more sense with the headline "Missing geese highlight latent racism".

The Daily Express, still pretending to not know what normative power means. Because to do so would admit that Brexit promises were lies.

Still waiting. Like, just copy and paste the quote.

Other people have commented and seem to have understood my post. You're the only one with this "special" take.
December 21, 2025 at 7:45 PM
Still waiting for you to show me where I advocated for that...

I didn't even imply it.

SHOW ME!

This doesn't sound like sound tax advice.

But then again, I'm British so I don't have a handle in the US tax system.

But from my brief research, you'd need to pay tax on any winnings above the charitable allowance if you gave the money to charity (which would be a lot).
December 21, 2025 at 7:15 PM
You didn't get it. Because I didn't advocate for anything.

Point out the sentence where I advocated for a tax cut.

Then read the whole thing again. Then have a think before posting.

Wow, I haven't had someone miss the point this much since I left Twitter.

In the UK lottery winnings are tax free. Ironically (given their aversion to tax and popular rationale for independence) US winners are taxed.

Billionaires can leverage their stock holdings to buy companies tax-free. But a working-class lottery winner gets clobbered.

The USA is a screwball comedy.

People need to realise that public services are in crisis because the electorate has voted for austerity and asset-stripping instead of investment in the country.

Not all of these might be possible, but hopefully some of these:

1. Seize or lien on their assets.
2. Kick her out of the Lords / remove title.
3. Prevent them from being company directors in the UK.
4. Criminal charges for fraud.
5. Publicity campaign to boycott their businesses.
