still, the bill would've split Rs and making them filibuster would've been a good way to focus attention on the threat of Trump II. I think there was just limited attention and floor time and they thought the play was moving forward not back.

Politically problematic to deny any Troops pay, but the pay bill could include a rider that no funds (at all) be used for the transport of NG troops to another state for 12406 purposes. Make R's vote against it.

I saw people raving about this on Facebook and thought "ugh did they make AI animate the comic? What a crime." But actually no, it's just an AI reading it aloud, which I guess is fine, but...what's the point? I can read the comic book to myself, like I did when I was seven. How is this the future?

yes, I said "Legos." I know the proper plural is "Lego," but I've said "Legos" since I was 3 years old and I have no plans of changing it.

Lego picture of the day: the FX Star Patroller (1985). I was surprised to find the parts and instructions for this in my childhood collection. I have no memory of it and that was before I got into Legos. It must've been a hand-me-down at some point!

It risky for them because they’re asking the CA NG to violate the order, not ICE. They’ll have their state adjutant general on the phone telling them they have to obey the court. And if they defy the admin, really bad look.

The wrinkle there is it’s far less likely the CA NG would obey Trump than ICE would. Not the best place for him to start defying the courts. Doesn’t mean he wouldn’t try, or that they wouldn’t be afraid he would.
