What work are they doing there?

Our thoughts exactly after viewing the Kiefer show at the Ashmolean earlier this year. Great show, but was it worth 16 quid? About 50 early works, sketches, books. Didn't feel substantial enough for that price. I'm used to Italian ticket prices I guess.

Alternative photography print processes really cost three times as much for every component (paper, chemistry, transparency media, ink, computer, printer, UV lamps, brushes etc etc) for me to pursue, so I'm very happy about the new supplier :-D

To understand the impact of this, multiply the price of a luxury item like a bag of coffee beans by 3. That represents what I have to consider. Would you buy coffee beans if you had to pay 3 x your price in the 'first world'?
