At the risk of stating the obvious, Smith Tower is on the 500 block of 2nd Ave, not Yesler Way. 500 Yesler is almost a quarter mile uphill from Smith Tower, and the 500 block doesn’t really seem to have many alleyways…

Where exactly did this happen SPD?

Detectives and officers teamed up with loss prevention employees to identify and apprehend suspects they caught stealing. Ultimately, police arrested three suspects for burglary and nine suspects for shoplifting. Officers recovered $1,679
in stolen merchandise.

Police booked some of the suspects into the King County Jail, the rest were investigated and released at the scene. All of the suspects are permanently trespassed from entering into the store.

"This was a team effort and could not have taken place without the hard work by GIU detectives, patrol, and partnership with the loss prevention employees at Lowe's," said Sergeant Austin Davis.
GIU detectives will handle all of the follow-up investigations.

During this special White House tradition, thousands of children and their parents will proceed around the South Lawn to visit various trick-or-treat booths and
enjoy the autumnal decorations on the South Portico of the White House. The event will take place from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM and is open to ticketholders, including military families, law enforcement families, foster and adoptive families, and Administration officials with children.
The President and First Lady will hand out commemorative candies on the South Drive for a
portion of the event. Adding to the festivities and fun, the United States (U.S.) Air Force Strolling Strings will play traditional Halloween songs and modern tunes while the President and First Lady welcome children and families.

Based on a quick Google, I have a guess that the OP meant C-Suite jobs.

According to an Investopedia page updated July 2024, “men still constitute 72% of the C-suite.” Seems like a reasonable enough proxy for “best jobs” to me.

Those hoping for gender equality in the business world can find encouragement in the growing number of women leading large corporations. Since 2015, female representation in the C-suite has risen from 17% to 28%, alongside growth in the numbers of women occupying vice president and senior vice president roles. Despite this progress, men still constitute 72% of the C-suite. The promotion gap persists as well, with only 87 women promoted for every 100 men moving from entry level to managerial roles.

NYT is telling us with a straight face here that 60% women is “significantly skewed” and that the “trend is clear.”

White men really didn’t mind when it was 100% white men at universities. Now there are like 500 more women than men at a small school and they’re offended.

Last year's freshman class at Tulane was nearly two-thirds female. Tulane's numbers are startling, but the
school is not a radical outlier: There are close to three women for every two men in college in this country.
(The way schools report gender may not yet reflect many students' nonbinary understanding of it, but the overall trend is clear.) Last year, women edged out men in the freshman classes of every Ivy League school save Dartmouth, and the gender ratio is significantly skewed at many state schools. In 1993, Democrat and then-representative Charles Schumer intro-
duced the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RERA). Support in the
House of Representatives was so overwhelming that it passed with a
voice vote (which means that enough congresspeople literally shouted
"yea" that there was no need to force the House to call each individual
to vote, like winning a rap battle). Senator Ted Kennedy introduced the
bill in the Senate, where it passed 97-3. President Bill Clinton signed it
into law.

What to Look For In a School
The easiest way to vet a school is to see how often they use the word "diversity" or "inclusion" on their website. The more they use these words, the lower your chance of getting in if your child falls on the paler side of the skin spectrum.
For example, our local state system, the University of California, rejected my star student this spring, as did USC. In fact, no white kid I know got into a single UC school this year! A few did get waitlisted at UC Merced, the bottom feeder of the UCs.
Ten or 15 years ago, all of these kids would have waltzed into their pick of the UCs. That era is over for good.

FWIW Sinema was running against Martha McSally when elected in 2018. I voted for Sinema in that general election, and I'd do it again if it were the same situation. That race was NASTY to watch living in AZ.

The unfortunate reality is that Arizona is not an ally.

It's actually easy to set Safari to open the browser in a "Private" window by default. I don't need cookies or history longer than a session--delete that junk!S

No data is being deleted, right? This isn’t covering anything up. Any seizure backed by an appropriate legal process should allow access to this data through cooperation with the device’s owner.

How is the behavior described here any different than what cops are doing?

The report suggests, based on Census data, that the population in most of these neighborhoods is over 50% white. Chinatown International District neighborhood does not match that trend in census data, but the report suggests it for all other proposed neighborhoods.

Forgive me for not trusting that Seattle’s proposed CCTV pilot will be “data-informed” enough to avoid racial biases, when the following paragraph claims that the cameras will only “record people who choose to be in a public place where the technologies are being used.”
