In my area of Ga, there are no ranches. Lots of wealthy equestrians. There is a rodeo that comes to town to the city equestrian center. So many of the people who attend are Latino/Hispanic.

FWIW: My point was in response to whether it would have seemed excessively violent in the Jim Crow era. I don't think so because of all the atrocities that were committed -- including what I referenced -- and for decades masses of white people failed to condemn any of it. They supported it.

History major/former Alabama resident: I do think shit like this happened during Jim Crow. Loitering was a crime for Black men and women and they would be rounded up by police if just hanging around and made to perform forced labor, including at deadly mines in Bham, AL.
