Today's CSO concert. Had almost forgotten how magnificent the Chicago brass can sound-was reminded in spades by the Wagner. Mr. Tetzlaff was superb in the Sibelius and was coaxed to a Bach encore. I just let post romantic Schoenberg wash over me. #ClassicalMusic #ChicagoSymphony

Just listened to the 1st Symphony of Brazilian composer Lorenzo Fernandez. Anticipated something similar to his friend, Villa Lobos, but the "Brazilian" elements were subtle. Instead, my ears detected more influence from Bax, especially the first movement. Worth a listen.
