We really mustn't pollute the solar system with our garbage. Perhaps put him in a deep hole somewhere and hope he never resurfaces, a bit like our nuclear waste (but more toxic).

Who? Stephen Waxy-Lemon? I'm sure he's just much maligned and misunderstood. Perhaps he just needs a hug.

When Trump falls out with people, he REALLY falls out with them and throws a lot of insults in their direction. He hasn't done that with Musk. Maybe this is just a sham.

Will people STOP laughing at my dog?! He's an attention seeking little runt. This'll make him insufferable now.

They came for the wheelchair users, but couldn't take them away, because yet again they failed to think of ramps.

A thing of beauty. The new ones are new things of beauty.

And reducing the reliance on gas, the price-controlling factor, as Dale Vince has mentioned in his post, is a good reason to maximise your own generation and storage. It reduces one's vulnerability to volatile markets.

What is the mechanism by which energy prices are bound to gas, and how could it be broken? It seems odd now that gas only accounts for just over a third of energy generation?

In the UK, there’s a similar opportunity to expand renewable energy (solar, wind) and grid management technologies, which could help ensure that off-peak electricity remains cost-effective, even with growing demand from EVs and heat pumps.

I had an exchange with ChatGPT. Here's a bit:

Norway’s experience shows that wide adoption of EVs and heat pumps can increase night-time electricity demand, but renewable energy and smart grid technologies can help to mitigate price increases.

This is something I have been contemplating. Eventually, it might start fattening out. When? I don't know.

To be clear, the reason so much is gained from more battery storage is that you can chargecat night at 7.5p/kwh. Obvs it reaches a limit.

It's worth doing if you can afford the outlay. To me, this is a bit of a retirement plan.

If I get another battery, for about £1.2k, I'll save about £1250 and a 3rd will save me £1450. With inflation, it gets better. Over the 30 lifetime of the system, I save tens of thousands.
