5/5 We theorise that a #WellbeingEconomy can better protect the environment, reduce inequalities, and improve access to the resources we need to live healthily. To get there we need an understanding of power and vested interests, and working collectively to build a movement for change.

4/5 Wellbeing Economies have been proposed as a response to the #polycrisis, not least because orthodox economic are driving climate change, biodiversity loss, inequalities and erosion of democracy. Redesigning our economies is therefore an urgent and essential task.

The UK is a low tax economy

It has been for decades and has therefore invested less in public services like health

The result is poorer services & less access, a higher debt burden & an unhappy population

Choice is poor services low tax or better services higher tax

It joins a consensus of genocide scholars, including in Israel, and NGOs like Amnesty International.

The minimum income guarantee is a way forward for this and more. The coming AI “revolution” will see many roles just disappear, the same as happened in the Industrial Revolution.

Back then, there was widespread destitution, it took the state decades to catch up. The MIG is one way to counter that.
