色鮮やかなカリフォルニアが思い浮かぶ。昔リービ英雄が源氏物語の授業をUCLAでやってカリフォルニアの青空の下で(四季のある、湿度の高い)源氏物語は似合わない、みたいなこと書いたエッセイあったなぁ(模試の常連)。
SNSで見るアメリカと、私が一日の大半を過ごす教室にあるアメリカと、あまりに乖離しすぎていて、なんだか戸惑う。
南カリフォルニア都市部の公立高校、赤か青か、白か黒か、なんて2択じゃなくて、もうそれはカラフルなクレヨンの箱みたいなもので。
色も長さもブランドもバラバラのクレヨンの中に、マーカーやら絵の具やら鉛筆やらがそれはもうざっくばらんに混ざっていて。
あの優しいカオスはスクリーンを通さないだろうな。

商船三井が独高級車ポルシェに損害賠償訴訟を起こしたことが6日わかった。2022年にポルトガル沖で起きた自動車運搬船の火災は「積み荷の電気自動車（EV）の電池が原因だった」と判断した。EV運搬時の電池の発火リスクの管理を巡り、議論が起きている。商船三井は日本経済新聞の取材に対し「訴訟を起こしたのは事実」と話した。ポルシェは訴訟の事実を認めたうえで「進行中のため詳細はコメントできない」とした。
