The thing I have learned from being a non-football fan on Sports Bluesky is that ESPN, the NFL, and its officials hate every team in the league.

I'm local, as well. Yes, the local community (Granger / PHM) has always been supportive. But this is still a (relatively) small town. In deep red Indiana. Vinny is off to college next year. That's the kind of incident that makes you question where you continue to raise the rest of your kids.

this is why I think publications that focus almost solely on culture war issues are so empty. The genuine economic, health, welfare etc impacts of policy are much more important than Ivy League coursework discourse but become sideshows to these people.

People like Ben Shapiro, who draw a line at antisemitism, insist (for reasons beyond just morals of course) that there must be unacceptable beliefs. People like Vance oppose excluding anyone, as long as they hate the right people. 3/
