Like Pynchon, the film has sympathies with the underdogs, but it doesn't glorify them. What it does best is just to remind us how difficult we make things for the less fortunate in our country. And it does that without overly explicit commentary. What is shown on screen is enough.

Still on a massive high after a wonderful community event last night with Malcolm Turnbull.

So great to talk about evidence-based national security policy, and protection of our democracy, with an experienced, rational leader with such a remarkable backstory.

The tradition originated with an ancient Italian civilization who kept chickens’ fulcrums, believing them to have access to divine power.

The ritual moved through Europe and the US, where it evolved into breaking the wishbone for good luck.

I sought to strengthen the bill, with amendments to protect high-value ag land, safeguard drinking water catchments and give communities a real say.

The package isn’t perfect, but it’s an improvement and will now be tested.
