I have many feelings about a mean old woman from an old Star Wars game.

The retro aesthetic is an intentional callback to our history for civil rights.

But actually...

I designed a new gay/MLM pride flag.

The three colors at the bottom represent those we fought alongside for our rights, because our solidarity is our foundation.

The other four colors represent the different expressions of attraction extending into a distant sky, signifying how we are eternal.

Am I glad Mariah Carey is frozen in there and that we're out here

The utter gall of Kurzgesagt to post this after taking Bill Gates's money to make videos about overpopulation in Africa.

Because Kiki reciprocates Namari's intent, Namari is finally at a comfortable spot in her life where she feels like she can build relationships on her terms. The chapter ends with Namari treating them to food and asking them to share their stories. All of this is sadly cut from the anime.

Namari is also interrupted by Kiki, who asks how old she is. She's taken aback by this, but Kiki explains that she needs to know what to tell the resurrection office if they ever need to revive her. This is important because Namari isn't used to kind gestures like these.

After this scene in the manga, Namari offers to take Kiki and Kaka out to lunch with her own money. They talk about the difficulties of reviving a corpse that has mostly been destroyed or possessed (risk of souls mixing). This scene is here to build tension around Falin's currently unknown status.

Without the following scene, this one is actually pretty pointless. It feels like a bad decision on the part of the director that it got cut the way it did. In the previous episode, Namari refuses Mr. Tansu's offer to stay behind and says she sincerely wants to be part of his team.

In the part of the manga that the episode covers, there are additional (read: important and character-focused) scenes that were cut and they make me question why they would even include the other parts. For example, the scene where Namari visits the resurrection office.

Overall I've been happy with the Delicious in Dungeon anime adaptation of the manga, especially because things don't start to ramp up until after the part the anime is at now. But the latest episode was pretty disappointing and I'm worried about how the character interactions will go from here.

I'm going over old Zelda interviews and it's interesting how the way Aonuma talks about development for Ocarina of Time and Phantom Hourglass echoes his thoughts on Tears of the Kingdom; that they've done everything thing they could with the world.
