"Every design choice expresses a vision of humanity" - whoever builds AI products knows this.
Either Andreessen doesn't understand that technology doesn't guide itself, or he is in bad faith pretending so.
Tech is not neutral or self-regulating.
Techno-optimism starts from here.

Would you attend a university where 95% of the best graduates are unemployed?
If not, then why are we using the same old methods to select which ideas to transform into products?

Startups with 0 clients: "Let's try with a discounted plan for startups - they have no money, they would prefer a cheaper option to the incumbent and we will get our first MRR"

ok, now does it make any sense to target people with no money?

Feature requests ≠ user needs.

Feature requests are symptoms, not solutions.

Competitors rarely kill early-stage startups.

Not finding a strong wedge to break into the market does.

The wild thing is not that I stopped Googling stuff.
It is that I barely remember how it was to Google stuff.

Typing, 10 blue links, skipping SEO junk, 7 tabs, ads everywhere.
All of this just to compose an answer.

A years-long, 20+ times a day habit already feels just dumb.

How to stop confusing feature requests with user needs 🧵

No normal PM when running Discovery:

My brain when I talk with users I selected based on their behaviours:

“What can we do to improve this product for you?” sounds user-centric.

Too bad, your users don’t spend their day thinking about how to make your product better.

That’s your job, not theirs.

Too many founders and PMs confuse feature requests with user needs.

Feature requests are symptoms, not solutions.

Everyone drowns in data. Nobody finds insights.

Surveys, “State of the market” PDFs, trend reports, ChatGPT - they all show the surface. The obvious.

“Oh, interesting.." -- If I had 1€ for each prospect that told me this and then ghosted me 😂
Opinions and saying "Interesting" cost... $0 and so they are worth... $0.

You're not building for the averages. You're hunting outliers.

What you need to build something innovative is anomalies.

Products are the power-ups.
Users are the heroes.

Your product is "just" the sidekick that unlocks their next level -- and you should be proud of this!

Product Discovery tip:
If they didn’t do it, don’t assume they will.

My thesis is that pre-seed funding will only keep existing for startups with R&D costs involved.

Launching AI-based SaaS is becoming a lot less expensive & VCs are becoming unable to predict how defensible these are.

How do you define Product-Market fit?
I see a lot of chaos.
A startup has reached PMF when... (finish the sentence)

AI is making execution faster, then development speed is no longer gonna be an advantage.
March 26, 2025 at 11:55 AM
Your devs are getting 10x faster thanks to AI.
𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁. Their attention is the bottleneck now.

This means that:
1. You'll release more than they can notice or engage with.
2. The market won't have the capacity to absorb the new products released.

It’s amazing to do things that were out of reach, but home-machine bread and bakery bread are not the same.

Yes, I'm talking about #vibecoding.

Don't get me wrong, I love the feeling. But coding a product for real is another thing.

#vibecoding
the next unicorn will be the AI tech lead that fixes and harmonizes the mess created by vibe coders.
