I'm so lucky that so many fungi have spooky names! Perfect for a woodland horror novel. Check out witch's butter, a jelly fungus. It comes in a handy black also :-)

Keep forgetting to post and update on the olives I cured. It took about 6 months in brine to get rid of the bitterness and then I added balsamic vinegar and herbs and put in the fridge. They are so good!

Another photo from our hike in the Southern Oregon mountains. This is a cluster of smaller madrones, they were loaded with tasty red berries, turning the tree a gorgeous rojo. Stepped over lots of bear scat showing the berries have been appreciated! #Oregon #nature #trees

Hiking in the Southern Oregon mountains yesterday and came upon this gorgeous old madrone tree. I love it when they grow from a central one that has either been cut or died. A whole different kind of fairy ring! They can be 800 or so years old in the root system evidently! #trrees #nature #oregon
