#NSF!
We'll be working w/ small-scale apple producers in N India & Central NY to study collective action for the conservation of wild pollinators. 🐝🌸🌳🍎👩‍🌾

It would be nice if there were more support groups for what’s happening to scientists right now. I don’t need more information firehose or more suggestions for ways to take action; I’m set on both. I just want to talk to other new PI’s about how hard it is right now

The EPA is canceling almost 800 environmental justice grants, court filing reveals.

The agency is sending out notices of termination to 781 awardees, almost twice the number of canceled grants that had been previously reported.

In the past two days I have dried & pinned bees, helped plan forest plots for lidar scans & spent hours planning for experimental games to feed an agent based model.

Time to start the next big field push for our #PollinatorCommons project. The whole team is in India for the next 3 weeks.
Day 1: Training on pollinator sampling.
Tomorrow we start setting up pollination exclusion experiments on 60 farms.

As scientists, we must continue to support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Most importantly, broadening participation in science is the right thing to do. In addition, numerous peer-reviewed pubs have shown that diverse teams are more productive and innovative. Diversity has benefits!
