Went to login to one of my #Mastodon accounts only to discover the instance had shut down without any notice. Not only did I lose my account, but the list of people I was following (it was a niche instance) with no idea of where they went. ☹️

"Enshittification" is an appropriate Word of the Year but I was also relieved to see that another shortlisted word - "skibidi" - is defined as having "no inherent meaning", which makes complete sense given the random way my 12 year old flings it around.
