Almost certainly. I think in the linus video he even says Steam are all for allowing a third party to continue support and development of the current existing hardware.
I see lighthouses moving firmly into "Enthusiast" level hardware, but not vanishing. I also see potential "modules" for the frame.

Tbh I think XBox have been trying to get out of hardware for a while. This might be the excuse they need to go full software (and then doing something dumb like jack the price of game pass some more, probably knowing them.)
