East coast gov't attorney, twin mom, 🔵 politics up and down the ballot. I love you, Dad; I will carry you with me to the end of my days, remembering all those moments you taught me to trust in my own heart to be alive. ♥️
Us too! We're considering retiring to France and it can't come soon enough ... even if I can't yet speak French.

Thank you so much! My hope (after his AP score are released on Mon I will dig deeper) is because he's also French he can get the EU tuition rate. Some countries (like Ireland) require EU residency; some only require EU nationality to qualify. And you're so right: socialism really isn't a bad thing!

I would love to learn more about this! My son is a dual US/French citizen and I would really love him to consider attending uni in France at eEcole Polytechnique for Physics but haven't been able to "crack the code" on what tuition might be! And is there a student housing subsidy as well? Thanks!

Yep, apparently the superceding contemplated would have included obstruction of justice and destruction of evidence.

I admit I don't know enough about the dismissal rules and allowances to know how likely it might be as an option but forcing Trump/Bove's hand would be great.

I think Pwn's (and your!) idea is brilliant!

You're right in the main of course, but not realizing that nuclear (with all its power and energy) might be in the Department of Energy is a special kind of not thinking things through.

Ohhhh.I didn't follow that - apologies. That's an interesting take. I like it!

Sorry -- should hens said *dismissing * without prejudice. Silly keyboard.
February 15, 2025 at 1:43 AM
Yes, standing "without prejudice" allows the case to be brought later if Adams' doesn't follow the playbook.
February 15, 2025 at 1:42 AM
Dismissed without prejudice means it *can* be brought again at a later date. This is hot Trump/Musk/Bove/Homan is holding the charges over Adams' head to make sure he plays nice.

It's NOT an 8 month buy out. It's a deferred retirement. Work until Sept 30 then you're gone but you have to tell us by February 6. But you don't have to return to the office in those 8 months. You might be working or your agency might just put you on admin leave where you're paid, but maybe not.

It's not even a buy out. It's a deferred resignation. Answer us by wednesday next week and keep on working, or maybe not, maybe you'll get admin pay to not work, it ms up to your agency, through September 30. But you can work, or not, from home.

Thank you for this laugh. I laugh so I don't implode.

Why do so many of these missives (i.e., the EOs; this memo, etc.) need a follow up clarifying memo with the actual meat of the issue? That's so inefficient and dumb.
January 29, 2025 at 2:33 AM
Sadly, my concern is that this Supreme Court can (and I fear will) overturn its precedent. And because there's no mechanism for an EO to simply override the Constitution, I believe this was set up to force that showdown at SCOTUS.
