Rode 40 miles between Saturday and Sunday and still feel pretty good. Got me some stuff from Precision Fuel & Hydration and I can feel the difference.

Tied for worst - the jet lag coming back from a 16 hour time difference is crushing. I was at least 2 weeks trying to get right. Just brutal. Working, even from home, the next day was a rookie move and a mistake I won't repeat again.

Worst part of the trip? The freaking Thunder won the 2024-2025 NBA championship while I was on a train going to Nagano and YouTube TV isn't available there and I had to suck it up and watch via game cast from NBA dot com. #ThunderUP

3) other than in 2 instances I can think of, most people were super respectful and helpful, but you need to be able to speak a bare minimum of Japanese and understand the culture to be able to participate. If you make an effort, most will respect that and give you their best.

2) having a payment card system for trains, stores and the aforementioned vending machines is a game changer. You get a Suica or ICOCA and you load yen on it and you're good. Truly transformational.

Spent 3 weeks in Japan recently, and had a blast. 11/10 would visit again. Top 3 things for me that as an American, I didn't get until going there - 1) vending machines everywhere are a life saver in the summer months...

Superman was good. Just good. I like some of the things James Gunn does with his films, and GotG 1/2 were legit, 3 was a bit of a whiff for me. I would see Superman again with the kids, but I'm not sure it was the "reboot" the DCU needed. It not being a huge flop is a start, I guess?
