Denmark — once again leading the way on climate action — releases its plan to reduce CO2 emissions by 72% compared to 1990 baseline.

This is how we win the fight against climate change folks! 👊🌏

The Arctic faces accelerating climate change, but the U.S. continues to slash its budget for polar science. Critical research is being defunded. We can't afford to ignore the poles — what happens there affects us all.

At the UN Climate Summit today, many of Canada's allies will reaffirm & strengthen their commitment to climate action—but PM Carney will be notably absent.

Amid increasing uncertainty over this government's climate approach, we need to know: is Canada in, or out?

Today, we launched the biggest thing that Project Drawdown has ever done -- the Drawdown Explorer.

It is the world's *ultimate* guide to effective climate action.

The latest data, the best science... brought down to actionable *here and now* recommendations.

The Semper Crevasses project is keeping us busy on the ice sheet this week! Here's the view into one of Greenland's newest crevasses, which has opened in recent months at 2000 m elevation above sea-level about 100 km inland from Ilulissat Glacier front.

Hard to ignore that the selected US authors in WGI dropped from 25 in AR6 to 15 in AR7. The US withdrawl from IPCC process perhaps forced folks to seek nomination through second-country and/or observer organizations, resulting in a smaller US nominee pool?

This summer’s droughts, heat waves and floods have cost the European Union an estimated €43 billion this year.

This knocks nearly half a percentage point off the region’s economic output, according to a study published today.

Yes, we’re also wondering what happens when meltwater meets these inland mega-crevasses. At the moment, there is little runoff at 2000 m elevation, but this will clearly not be the case in the future.

Not sure if it’s possible to do structure from motion from a regular drone video? Perhaps it needs to be photos and a simpler geometry.

The crevasse in the field are >2 km long. The width of this one is probably <5 m on this stretch. We dropped a LiDAR in a similar crevasse last year, something like 40-60 m deep.
This one looks deeper (to me!).
