For 35 years, #GreatLakes Sediment and Nutrient Reduction Program grants have empowered local partners to keep our lakes clean—preventing nearly 100,000 pounds of phosphorus from entering the Great Lakes since 2017 alone!

Finally, the GLC passed resolutions calling for water reuse and coordinated resource management in the development of AI/computing infrastructure, as well as prevention of plastic pollution and harmonization of stormwater management.

The GLC also elected new leadership: Chair Timothy Bruno, #GreatLakes coordinator at the PA Dept of Environmental Protection and Vice Chair James Jennings, head of @ilepa.bsky.social.

The GLC would like to extend gratitude to our immediate past chair Mary Mertz of the Ohio DNR for her leadership.
