Re your comment of the ethics of China govt subsidies. A country is one big business. Australia also subsidizes certain industries, bails out failing companies and provides tax breaks. There is no ethical issue.

We have rushed through Gun Control and Hate Speech laws, but we can’t have zero tolerance of alleged Domestic Violence perpetrators. No bail until they are convicted and get a compulsory jail term or set the non-convicted free. No leniency and very likely to lower the death toll from approx 100 pa.
