Soooooo, yesterday, London's Senior Women Team Chaos won the silver medal at the Ontario Senior Games in Bracebridge. A proud moment for the entire team. This is as Norman Rockwell would have captured it.

These numbers were from a year ago. Today, every category has gone up. We help approximately 6500 families a month, over 40 agencies and assist over 90 meal programs. Despite this serious increase, Ldondoners continue to donate and meet the demand. Thank you, London.

Every party faces this. Political conventions are supposed to gather a nation’s better instincts. But when they turn inward - when applause replaces listening - they become echo chambers. And a country cannot be understood from inside an arena alone. We must come together in these decisive moments.

If we are preparing more children for a hungry future, then we have not misunderstood tomorrow - we have failed to tell the truth about today. Hunger is not a forecast; it is a verdict on the present we chose to tolerate.

Canada was shaped not by the clenched fist, but by the open hand. We learned early that in a vast and fragile country, you do not rule one another - you make room. So we negotiate, again and again, kknowing that coexistence is its own quiet triumph.

This happens every day - hundreds of times a day. We see it and it's so humbling. London mobilizes to meet such demand. The London Food Bank is merely the channel for that kind of care. It's inspiring. Thank you, London.

Martin Luther King Jr. did not just change laws; he changed the moral weather. He reminded a restless nation that history bends not by force alone, but by the quiet, stubborn courage of people willing to love their enemies and insist that justice is a form of belonging. We honour him.

"We should live in a country so decently organized that food banks are unnecessary. But they are presently the humble places of generosity stand between fragile lives and utter collapse. Yet until we build that society, they are the thin, grace-filled line holding chaos at bay ” ... Glen Pearson

I post similar data about child hunger in London every few weeks. People respond by saying something should be done. But it doesn't happen. I don't know what to say. They are our future.

The London Food Bank doesn't jut serve those coming directly for help. Iit helps numerous feeding initiatives across London. 60% of our food drive collections also go to those groups. It's our mandate to help those vital operations since they serve at the front lines of human care.

It stands to reason that if you build up structures while our humanity is breaking down, only a few will benefit from such actions. Talk of change while tolerating hunger isn't reform at all but the status quo. It shrinks future possibilities for our children.

Citizenship moves from being something one possesses to something one inhabits. If we can master this as Canadians, then our future looks promising. It akes collective effort, but we're worth it. Our kids are worth it.

Canada’s challenge is not to abandon its politeness, but to deepen it - to root civility once again in shared life. Without that rooting, loneliness will continue to hollow out our virtues from within. It's time for us all to re-engage. To build a better future.

Rather than request donations furing this holiday week, we just wanted to take the proper time to express our deep thankfulness for generosity that went above and beyond. You recharged our batteries for the challenges that now lie directly before us. Thank you, all of you.

Christmas gathers the long memory of love, sacrifice, and promise, and then sends it forward into the lives we are still becoming. Thanks for including us as part of the journey, London - and for all the marvellous generosity. Happy holidays.

Christmas is not finally about what we receive, but about the moment we decide that someone else’s hunger matters as much as our own abundance. When we give food, we are saying - with our hands, not our words - that no one should be alone at the table.

“Christmas does not solve the world’s problems, but it reminds us how they are borne. Not alone, not heroically, but together - through the slow, stubborn grace of community. In a fractured age, the most radical act is still to show up for one another" ... Glen Pearson
