Because you live in a society. Part of being in society means contributing to ensure everyone is taken care of

I wish more people would realize the tax dollars they would spend on Universal healthcare would be far less than private insurance premiums

As a side note I’ve experimentally done a couple of more zoomed out kinda pieces I’d be willing to take a crack at for roughly 1.5-2x portrait price depending on complexity like this one if anyone is interested in that (Inkmaven’s here still needs PS cleanup and signing lol)
