The Government has acknowledged that it made the wrong decision in allowing the data centre to go ahead without binding commitments from the developer on how they would reduce its environmental impact and agreed that the Secretary of State’s decision should be quashed.

Wood burning produces fine particulate air pollution (PM2.5), which enters your bloodstream when inhaled and can cause heart and lung disease, as well as increasing your risk of diabetes and dementia.

Many people are still not aware of the facts about wood burning or have been exposed to confusing messages.

In July 2025, then-Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner overruled Buckinghamshire council’s decision to reject the development application for this data centre, despite the developer’s failure to carry out an adequate environmental impact assessment.
