Also check out Barry Saxifrage's charts comparing the climate impact of BC #LNG expansion with fossil fuel emissions of 55(!) countries, the #climate impact of the proposed Ksi Lisims LNG project, and how BC's LNG expansion would increase #Canada’s per capita emissions from fossil fuel extraction

In case you haven't voted yet - this bear wants you to vote, to preserve his home and our homes, on the only livable planet we know. Research your riding and be aware of unintended consequences (photo from last week, during a short break at Quinsam River, with strong zoom) #BCelection24 #bcpoli

Check out Reuters investigation of the role of weak forestry certification systems in clearcutting in Canada, especially the ‘Sustainable Forestry Initiative” (SFI). Logging of some the last old-growth forests in British Columbia is a particularly dramatic example. www.reuters.com/investigates...

Important new report highlighting Canada's huge logging emissions. B.C. has an outstanding opportunity to reduce emissions from logging by following through on commitments to protect carbon-rich old-growth, reform forestry practices and enact biodiversity legislation. Thanks to Andrew Macleod for this follow-up article on the leaked B.C. Ministry of Forests map and slow progress on forest protection in the Tyee. The map is just one symptom for a government acting with one hand to protect old-growth and with the other to keep logging it. thetyee.ca/News/2024/04...

Love this. Look at this jump in growth in the world’s renewable energy capacity in 2023. We have a fighting chance to stabilize the climate if we stop building new fossil fuel projects, as a first step before winding down production.
