I had to step outside and walk for a bit when I heard the news about #JaneGoodall passing. Her kindness and wisdom about about us humans being part of the web of life was deeply authentic. The world feels a bit colder without her in it, but her rich impact shows that we have potential to do better.

The world-renowned primatologist Jane Goodall has died at the age of 91, her institute has said.

“Dr Goodall’s discoveries as an ethologist revolutionised science,” the statement read. “She was a tireless advocate for the protection and restoration of our natural world.”

Governments & fossil fuel companies call LNG “low-carbon.” But LNG Canada will unleash 36M tonnes CO₂/yr, equal to 9.5 coal plants or 8M cars. Far from a "clean" energy source.

We are still waiting for the results of the BC Timber Sales review. Using BC government control over BC Timber Sales to follow old-growth deferral recommendations would be a basic step in the right direction. Sierra Club BC BCTS review submission sierraclub.bc.ca/.../our-2025...

This weekend, the world will #DrawTheLine against billionaires and politicians who are willing to sacrifice their grandchildren's future. Listen to what @sanders.senate.gov says . . . (Most US events are Sun Day, Sat in Canada). #fossilfuels

It doesn’t matter if you’re working class or a billionaire: climate change will hurt your grandchildren.

That’s why I cannot understand oil executives who sacrifice the planet’s health for their short-term profits

We must transform our energy system away from fossil fuels NOW.

I was shocked when I first saw these results from standard climate models used in IPCC reports: for high emissions, the Atlantic overturning circulation #AMOC shuts down in all 9 models that ran past 2100, and is well on the way to shutdown by 2100.
Our paper on that is out today.🧵
