Russia’s losing streak is not coming to an end and received another episode, this time in Iraq.

The Iraqi government nationalized the stake of Russia’s Lukoil in regards to the West Qurna-2 oil field, which accounts of around 75%. This oil field produces 460,000 barrels of oil, daily.

According to Russian channels the owner of Tattranskom transport, Ilyas Gimadutdinov, a company providing services to Gazprom and Rosneft, was onboard.

Allies will take on binding obligations to support Ukraine in case of future Russian aggression, per the draft Paris agreement seen by Sky News. Commitments may include military, intel, logistical aid, diplomacy & sanctions. A US-Ukraine subgroup will be formed. Approval expected later today.

France, the UK and Turkey will push a plan to deploy peacekeeping forces in Ukraine. The proposal envisions a foreign contingent possibly up to 30,000 troops. France and Britain would provide most of the forces, with Turkey responsible for the Black Sea. The U.S. would offer logistics and intel.

Finland has seized the Russian vessel Fitburg, believed to be part of the Kremlin’s so-called “shadow fleet,” after it was linked to damage to undersea telecom cables between Finland and Estonia. The ship was intercepted in the Gulf of Finland on December 31.

Russian military bloggers have finally admitted their total defeat and loss of the city of Kupiansk. This is a huge humiliation for Putin after he recently announced Russia's total control over the city. Ukraine used Storm Shadow missiles to destroy another oil refinery in Novoshakhtinsk.

The Iraq War was a tragic mistake, but nobody was surprised that the US military took Baghdad in less than a month, even though Iraq is half a world away from the US. Meanwhile, Russia can’t get halfway across a country on its border. Losers.
To those thinking Russia is winning in Ukraine:

Imagine if when we invaded Iraq, we were almost four years into it, only occupied 20 percent, and lost a million men.

Not a soul would call that “winning.”
