Removing through motor traffic from residential neighbourhoods and creating traffic calming features transforms streets into safe, welcoming spaces where people of all ages can walk, cycle, and connect with their community. Streets become places to live and linger, not just routes to drive through.

The sooner councils stop hiding how much it costs to subsidise “free” parking, the sooner they’ll be able to free that money up for more productive things. This won’t go through like this but it will remove the main argument against continuing to offering free parking.
