I like computers, music, books, dogs, amateur (ham) radio, motorcycles, table top role playing games, bass guitar, photography, and other stuff. I'm currently a software developer working primarily in C#.
Do people watch games for something other than eye candy? (ducks) ;-)

For me, it was hockey (almost the only sport I watch) and a good story where I felt scene. A few of my husband's friends were asking the same questions quietly among themselves, so I'll have to relay that to them.

And to be clear, there is much more story than sex, but so was Brokeback Mountain and there was no end of whining over that. That's is what's making me curious about the interest in Heated Rivalry.

I curious what straight men find enjoyable about it. Is is the sports? Just a good story? Something else? I'm not complaining, but it feels weird given the number of (tastefully done) sex scenes. Whatever the reason, I'll take it as a win.

Dude. If I could be done I would be. I do NOT want to be here.

I never liked that song. I mean it's not bad, I can listen to it, but it never resonated with me. Now "give me something to break" ... why yes, please do give me something to break because I'm F-ing pissed.

And, just to clarify ... I'm not pointing fingers. I'm just making an observation. Carrying on. Do what works for you. 5/

But maybe that's just me. Having been bullied and different, and my experiences thus also having been different. 4/

Every generation has problems and coping mechanisms that other generations will not understand. Some are worth sharing in the correct light, others are not in any light. It's generally best to relate things as generically as possible when these ideas/feelings conveying things forward. 3/

I've also found that my younger coworkers grew sick of hearing it a long time ago - particularly the ones that are within 10-15 years of me. I've stopped, or at least try to stop myself, from making the "back in my day" and "my generation" comments. 2/

I'm stretching, slightly, but it feels like someone read the Cyberpunk 2020 timeline, decided it was a good idea, and said "lets do that." 🤢

To clarify, there is a period between Jan 21 and Feb 20 (inclusive) for the Chinese zodiac signs where i could be one of two signs depending on when the new year starts. There might be a calculation to resolve that, but at the time I could not find one.

I wrote this in 2024 and can't find my notes. I seem to remember the western zodiac signs being fairly static. The Chinese ones are more difficult because it's based on the when the Chinese year starts. For my purposes, it was not worth the effort. You'd want to resolve that for a library though.

Write down a story that's been in my head for months. I've actually started if you can call two short paragraphs started. I honestly don't know how you (and every other author) do it ... it's perplexing. But then that's why you're the professional and I'm not. Does it get easier with practice?

"Also there are less environmentally destructive ways to spur ideas/structure."

Do you have a blog post or anything on what those ways might be? I'd be very interested in reading something like that. I had trouble writing in the distance past, and creative writing still perplexes me frequently.

Better because of alcohol? Unlikely, unless it's the temporary kind of better ... which is useful and necessary at times. Cheers.
