The Illuminator's Guild is a major power in my underground city setting, so I'm trying to adopt a style reminiscent of 14th-century illuminated manuscripts for the illustrations. Apparently, a secular, assembly line process was prominent in Paris at the time.

Im a pretty amateur artist who developed what modest skills i do have before #digitalart was a thing...so apps like #sketchbook are both amazing and frustrating. Long story short, I just discovered the steady stroke tool, and it's a godsend!

I first encountered the place name “Five Dials” in John Bellairs’ The Face in the Frost, a wonderful book about a couple of wizards on a road trip. If I recall, the name is in reference to a clock tower. I didn’t know until recently that there was a real place with that name.

I've been promising for months to debut a playable draft of my Battlestar Galactica-inspired #boargame at the guys' weekend coming up in two weeks. Guess I should get working on it.

Something I really miss from 2014 #dnd as both a player and DM is background features. Maybe a little less mechanically useful than origin feats, but way easier to build an encounter from. I'm thinking a #homebrew feat that gives False Identity or Retainers would be a very attractive option.

The #BBEG for my space-opera #spelljammer campaign is dark space sorcerer Mørke Far. Father of the princess, of course, and all about using telekinesis in combat. I threw in some Dr. Doom, too, to make it more interesting.

A space-opera setting for your spelljammer campaign simply has to start with the rebellious princess, rejecting her father’s tyranny and now leads a rag-tag resistance movement. My version is basically a bard, with a devastating remark for any situation.
