Some of these “manipulators” are immediately disintegrated. The pattern is not obvious. I’ve found some players really respond well to this test of how curious they are and how much they’re willing to risk their character.

In the intervening time, the name itself really stuck with me, and I built up a little #ttrpg encounter inspired by it. In my Five Dials, the town is built up around five literal dials of unknown provenance. Visitors can set the dials and pull a lever.

Can't believe i made the same typo twice. Sorry to disappoint, there are no boars in this game.

First version years ago was a #ttrpg, but the map of the battlestar became too important mechanically. A #boargame version means I also have to make a bunch of hexagonal cards to replace the tables.

As a player, I think I'd pick a feature over the PHB origin feats for a lot of characters. As a DM, I'd much prefer a player to show up with Guild Membership or Discovery than Lucky. Is there a cleaner way to bring them back than simply porting them over as origin feats?

This tyrannical imperial enforcer leads armies of trooper bots. To solve the "dozens of weak enemies against the PCs" problem, I us some tables to boil all of their attacks and saves down to a few dice rolls...also convenient for goblins and skeletons and other favorite #dnd baddies.

PCs in possession of a spelljamming vessel can find themselves convinced to help these NPCs return to their resistance base while avoiding the watchful eye of Imperial hunters, alternatively, less goody-goods might be incentivized to become hunters themselves.

The trio of heroes is rounded out with the hirsute sidekick Akabwech, a bugbear barbarian. Yes, I frequently resort to using reversed names even when the reference is obvious. It's become a sort of game with the players to see if I can sneak one by them.

Notorious gambler, rascal, and ladies' man Ace Olos doesn't want to come off as a sentimental sap, but he's not-so secretly devoted to the princess. I gave him the assassin rogue's ability to avoid conflict by shooting first.
