Two of the most common climate misconceptions I see, even among knowledgeable folks, are that (1) most people aren't worried about climate change, and (2) if they were, they'd act.

Not true! Data show (1) most people are worried, but (2) they won’t act if they don’t know what to do-and most don’t.

Such a beautiful book about seasons and life cycles in nature. A new addition to our local library and a perfect book to discuss autumn with kids.

The changes this season brings, how we can see them all around -for example in trees 🍂 🍂🍂- and why these matter for the whole ecosystem and life cycle.

I opened my academia.edu account in 2010 and finally deleted it 15 years later after their new Terms of Service claiming perpetual and irrevocable rights over my content and personal information.

The AI generated podcasts & screening of articles (without my consent) was bad enough, now is absurd 🙄

When asked about the links between their school work and their future career, there was an increase in how relevant children felt their current learning was. Those in 1st Year rated the relevance of what they are learning in class higher than they did in 6th Class.

It's hard to see what we're not seeing when working from the dominant or majority (normative) social position. As researchers, we share a normative but rarely critically considered position as ADULTS.

This means our research has likely been shaped by adult-centrism. I made a resource.

I consider my research ageless
Most or all of my participants are working-age adults
I consider research about children, youth or older-age people to be the subject of special niche scholarship, not mainstream to my discipline. I expect research involving children, youth or older-age people to be separate subfields.

Age variation within the adult age category is not part of my analysis
I do not specify the age or life stage of my participants when contextualising their stories or quotes
I don’t really consider how the perspectives of children, adolescents or older-age people might change my interpretations of adult participants’ experiences in my research
