The way he placed trust in you was unique.
A giant scientist, a giant human being.

I still can't believe this has happened 🥹
Working with Jochen during these past 6 years has been pure joy...I miss him so much and still feel devastated that I could not say a proper goodbye (and that he can't even see our tiny jewel in the making).

My very dear Jochen Guck, has just passed away and yet I cannot believe it 🥹
Jochen is one of the most brilliant scientist I had ever met, a human being with unlimited qualities, brave and caring, positive (always) and full of ressources, helpful and with - always - the best advices.

I feel so proud to have already published our science with him (and to soon publish with him accompanying me/us).
Shocked by this loss, deeply saddened. Rest in peace Jochen.

There will be so many memories from our very recent yet tight collaboration...but the one that comes to my mind is having a hard time beating him at Ping-pong / Tischtennis during an EMBO workshop at Les Houches 😢
