I am not quite as well-read here, and my instinct is to say the comparison is considerably different - global markets weren't linked in the same way, Asia (and by extension its markets) is COMPLETELY different today than it was then.
So do you think we’re looking at a 1929-level market crash?

This is why there's been such an aggressive, obnoxious push to market AI as an inevitable, essential technology for the future. They desperately need to frame any and all justifiable skepticism as anti-progress cowardice before everyone realises it's actually just common sense to think this is shit.
I cannot express how bad this story is for generative AI. OpenAI is burning hundreds of millions of dollars to try and make GPT-5 a meaningful upgrade, and it isn't working. Where does all of this go? How does this result in anything?
