My great uncle Reza fled Iran and arrived in the UK in the 70s. All he had was some Persian rugs, which he sold to start his life over. Starmer’s Labour would have denied him that chance and a huge part of my family would never have existed.
Shabana Mahmood casually saying they're gonna take migrant's jewellery off them has got me thinking about that scene in Schindler's List where the Jewish family wrap family heirlooms in bread and swallow them.

What the fuck are we?

The Running Man would be immediately improved if Glenn Powell and Michael Cera swapped roles, and I’m not even joking.

NEW VIDEO: In 1996 Kenneth Branagh released an epic 4 hour version of William Shakespeare's Hamlet. In 1997 it got an official videogame adaptation that fell into deep obscurity.

Until now.

Rockstar union workers have set up a solidarity fund to help them survive and fight after 30 of them were fired in an attempt to destroy the union.

Help them fight back! If you can, any little bit you can donate will massively help their efforts.

As always, paying a fine - even a huge one - does not address the problem. They should be made to scrap any LLM trained on the stolen data and start over using only material they have legally acquired. Otherwise it's like fining someone for burgling your house, but they get to keep what they took.
OpenAI pirated large numbers of books and used them to train models.

OpenAI then deleted the dataset with the pirated books, and employees sent each other messages about doing so.

A lawsuit could now force the company to pay $150,000 per book, adding up to billions in damages.

Local newspapers were not perfect by any stretch, but allowing companies to destroy them not only impoverished communities, but left us all vulnerable to social media and the disinformation that's tearing our society apart from within.

As I argued in my Kinect Star Wars review at the time, the dancing minigame was a more authentic depiction of actual 1970s Star Wars fandom than any serious Jedi adventure.
