Amaryllis ❤️ this is a new plant on me and it’s been showing its promise since I bought it a week ago. I’m loving these flowers, they are slightly glittering and the shade is stunning. I just hope I can keep it alive!

Sunrise on the beach this morning. The sand was glowing with pinkish hues. Such an uplifting place to be #ScottishHighlands

Beautiful sunrise today. It’s -3 degrees Celsius and I’m already fed up of the snow!
A woodland is carpeted in snow in the North East Highlands in Scotland. The sunrise has spread orangey mauve hues across the sky and a gap in the trees shows the shades of yellow from the rising sun.

We were up in the Hill of Edderton near Tain today, it’s privately owned land ancient Croft land which the owner is trying to get historical recognition for. Part of that is re-establishing woodland tracks. Today we cleared an old peat track of gorse

This is Wades Bridge near Garve in West Highlands. This is a woodland walk. Wades bridge is in the centre of the photo and there are trees and rocks at either side and the river is flowing beneath the bridge

Revisited some old haunts out West today on our journey to Ullapool. We used to live ‘out West’ but rarely venture this far now. The weather gods worked in our favour as the rain stayed away during our walks. Snow on the hills though #ScottishHighlands

In the middle of the picture sits Wades Bridge over the river Black Water. The bridge is one built by General Wade to ‘tame’ the ‘wild’ Highlands Corrieshalloch Gorge on the road to Ullapool in the West Highlands. This is deemed a Scottish rainforest because of the flora and fauna which grows throughout the 60 meter deep gorge. For those who don’t have a fear of heights there is a suspension bridge (not photographed).

Spent a great weekend at Trees for Life at Dundreggan in the Highlands @visitdundreggan.bsky.social learning about their work, walking and practicing yoga with like-minded people. We couldn’t have asked for better weather @highlandsrewilding.bsky.social @rewildscotland.bsky.social #Rewilding #Trees
A tree nursery at Trees for Life on the Dundreggan Estate in the Scottish Highlands. It was interesting hearing of the work undertaken by committed staff and volunteers to bring on the next generation trees to rewild the estate. There are poly tunnels with young trees and seeds and many other trees in trays outside. The inside cover which describes the story of ‘A Fire in Their Hearts’ by Philip Paris. It’s historical fiction which is set in the 17th century. It tells of the struggles of the Covenanters through a love story of the two main characters.

A beautiful autumn day in the Highlands today. We went walking on one of our old haunts; 9 miles along the River Conon on the Brahn estate. This is one of my favourite places and holds memories of our much missed Whippet, Ivor. brahan.com/brahan-house... #ScottishHighlands #SalmonRivers
The beautiful River Conon on the Brahn estate in the Scottish Highlands. It’s a wide river and it is bordered by lush greenery and many native trees. The sky is blue and beautifully reflected in the river. If you sit quietly you can watch the salmon leaping. There are otters too, not to mention the birds (including Red Kite).
