Trump thinks he can re-write science with an executive order. The campaign to regulate gender does so much more than hurt trans folks. It puts women at risk for discrimination and violence, too.

The Far-Right Campaign To Regulate Gender Harms All Americans
Project 2025 continues the alarming trend of enforcing strict definitions of gender that would not only harm transgender Americans but all Americans as well.

Trump and Vance ran a televised scam today. What all America saw was a premeditated hoax to justify cutting off aid to Ukraine. Nothing Zelenskyy did was offensive or disrespectful—but that was the line Trump and Vance had clearly decided to use beforehand to justify what they and Putin wanted.
The Trump administration is considering pausing all military aid to Ukraine - report

I will never forget the photo of Zelenskyy’s face after he saw Russia’s war crimes in Bucha in 2022. He seemed to age years in an afternoon. Watching him constantly cross the world asking for aid that should have been thrown at him is one of the deepest shames of our age.

This was a disgusting display by the soft, uninformed VP Vance trying to school Zelensky, the man who has led his country through the most surprisingly resilient and effective fight for sovereignty against a global superpower.

Every negative stereotype about America is confirmed in this exchange.
ZELENSKYY: Putin broke the ceasefire. What kind of diplomacy, JD, are you speaking about?

Numb and pure horror scrolling through this endless list of terminated #USAID contracts and awards.
Rubio terminated 5800 USAID contracts – more than 90% of its foreign aid programs – in defiance of the courts.

Here’s a list of just some of the lifesaving awards that were terminated. Nearly all were Congressionally mandated. They’ve saved millions of lives. 🧵

So - I've actually led Ebola outbreak response at USAID.

This is bunk from Elon. They have laid off most of the experts, they're bankrupting most of the partner orgs, have withdrawn from WHO, and muzzled CDC.

What's left is a fig-leaf effort to cover their asses politically.
Elon Musk: "We will make mistakes. We won't be perfect ... so for example, with USAID, one of the things we accidentally canceled very briefly was ebola prevention."

Anyone paying close attention to what’s happening in mainstream media? MSNBC/NBC resignations & cancelling of shows, joint statements from the wires with a very defeated tone, WaPo opinion head resigning. Things are unraveling. Outlets caving to ensure access to the White House. Very worrisome.

So.

It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year.

I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.
