One of those alders - the 19th Ward #Chicago alder - did nothing as a property management company terminated the leases of 126 tenants.

This may sound corny, but practice gratitude on a regular basis.

It took me a long time to accept that 1) I had friends, 2) they thought of me when I wasn't around, and that 3) people cared about me.

That helped me through some *major* life stuff and helped me feel better about myself.
