I keep getting better at adding alt-text and making it part of the rhythm of my online conversations by having this button on. Writing alt-text as my default means that I never forget it and it becomes my normal. Make alt-text your normal!
A screenshot of the Accessibility Settings on Bluesky with the button “Require alt text before posting” turned on

The obvious answer is because you’re implicated in organizing with treasonous criminals who attempted to overthrow the government and they want to know what you said to them, you seditious piece of shit

Graham: Can you tell me why my phone records were sought by the jack Smith agents. Why did they ask to know who I called and what I was doing from January 4th to the seventh? Can you tell me that?

Besides my mom’s dress being a poofy 80s monstrosity that she didn’t keep, I solved this by having a custom made blue suit that has simply become my default wedding outfit. My child will pry this from me only if I am dead (or can’t fit it anymore).

Łink’s the reason I learned what alt text is and why it matters.

He helped shape Bluesky’s early culture of accessibility.

The end of this Oct. marks 3 yrs since I was accepted to midwifery school/decided to leave 🇳🇴 after nearly 10 yrs to come home and do this work.

I've had 2.5 yrs of continuous calamity but I'm at the last 14% ($9612) of this campaign and every bit goes toward care supplies/keeping me alive to work.

Oh Hai 👋🏿

If I can keep these gig contracts steady, the last 15% of this campaign (that I started in October 2022) will go to the bigger ticket items that I still need like neonate appropriate pulse oximeters, for ex., and my licensure exam fees.

This is what I came for.

Truly the wildest shit is happening as we approach rapid collapse with Trump ready to circumvent court orders to deluge US cities in troops for the “crime” of disagreeing with him—and normies are hardly aware of it

The story has always been the Republican Party’s compliance with Trump (all the way down to Ronna Romney McDaniel excising her middle name) from the moment he won a plurality of the primary vote in 2016. It’s so obvious that it’s just assumed that Republicans will do his bidding

Look. Invading our own country is about as straightforward a case as you can have for impeachment. The GOP abandoning the Constitution is kind of the only story there is and it gets no coverage.

Guys. I just had a crazy idea. What if the President DIDN’T deploy troops in American cities. Just a thought. Have we tried that before?

My personal fave for this is Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, but whatever we come up with will be improvised and messy. It will be more akin to the rules about state legislatures and constitutions for the late Confederacy right after the Civil War. It was all done on the fly.

If Trump violates this order, if he attempts to violate it, if he suggests violence against a judge (whom he appointed) for demanding that he stay out of this, we claim a clear consequence. And it has to be one that we create with the tools available to us.

Oregon (Kennedy): I think it would be appropriate for the court to issue separate 2nd TRO and incorporate by reference reasoning of initial TRO. Now we'd need to broaden: apply to deploying federalized members of NG of *any* state into Oregon.

It had me—famously not a lawyer—wrecked!

Judge: How could bringing in NG from CA not be in direct contravention of TRO I issued yesterday?

DOJ: TRO related only to Oregon NG

Judge: You are an officer of the court. Aren't defendants clearly circumventing my order?

“So if there's all this passivity in the face of clearly unconstitutional action, how did the country resolve this? […] How did they determine that it was time to stop entertaining these bozos after months of letting them off the hook?”

“There are actions taken by officials and individuals that tear at the fabric of the republic; there are long and circular arguments about the officiousness of all these violations, demanding not only that opponents allow for their continuation but treat their degradation as a positive good.”

Trump federalizing the National Guard of multiple states over a court order denying the executive that power has to be our line. I thought about writing about the context of what it means to draw a line in the sand politically, but I already did earlier this year for DOGE.

I basically can’t remember a Simpsons episode from before I tried watching it from the beginning a year or two ago. I knew it by reputation, but I have no real references.

Say what you will about this, the dumbest, cruelest timeline, but you have to admit it’s going to be fun watching law schools fight over the hottest young scholars specializing in (checks notes) interstate compacts and the Third Amendment.

I never watched the Simpsons or South Park.

Inspired by a post I just saw in which someone admitted they hadn’t seen a single episode of Friends nor the film Love Actually… what cultural hole do you have that’s a bit weird for your generation?

I’ll go first: I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing.

Just posting this. Everyone knows why.
Text of the fourth amendment “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”
