All that aside I'm really enjoying how this story is playing out so far. Coming back from umineko and seeing the same build-up in tension used, in an even slower burn sort of way is just peak. Gonna try and incorporate those lessons into Burnbook if I can

One of the unspoken rules was that I had to switch genres constantly, but what if I added a rule that was like "one day a week you can't rely on a single genre. Perish"

I probably won't follow that one but I'm definitely trying to find value in even my messier creations

Something I'm also learning about #OctoBar is that distinct genres usually give me a really specific goal to aim for, which creates a lot of momentum to get a track there. Whereas if I'm aiming for something less specific / trying to go my own pace, it can be hard to know if I'm making music "right"

#OctoBar Entry #8 is not my favorite that I've put out, partly because I didn't have the time to really do the research on a genre. Practiced sampling + resampling, and really felt strongly about the idea of a strong bassline. One of the goals of #OctoBar, of course, is avoiding perfectionism, so
